Why Elevated Therapy?

I grew up loving a family member who suffered from PTSD due to severe childhood abuse. I myself have lived with PTSD from personal trauma as well. I have witnessed many loved ones, friends and colleagues all suffering from various forms of mental illness, but with too few resources which were often too expensive.

I developed a relentless desire to learn about and understand how to break these cycles of trauma and improve mental health awareness and availability to all those who are truly ready to face positive change.

After recieving my Bachelor's Degree, I got the EPIC opportunity to hone into my passion by identifying the primary services that I knew were a critical need in my community and culture, marriage and family therapies.

Through my professional experiences working as a suicide crisis prevention specialist and working in social services, combined with my formal systemic therapy education; I have learned that therapy is best when applied on an elevated and holistic level, unique to the client.

I prefer the use of Integrative Therapy because it allows a comprehensive consideration of multiple effective evidence based models to creatively collaborate to address the unique needs of every client I work with. No client should be put in a box and each therapy journey should be as special as YOU are.

I do often find that in couples therapy, life coaching and relationship coaching Gottman model interventions can make a phenomenal impact for change, so I am also avid in my use of this approach.
